☑️TODAY’S TASK: Water is essential to survival. At a minimum, you’ll want to include enough for 3 days. Look for one of the following options that you have around your house and put it in your bag TODAY.
BOTTLED WATER - 3 of the 16oz Bottles per person if possible. If you only have 1 per person, 1 is better than none. You can always add more water later.
STAINLESS STEEL CANTEEN - Preferably a single walled canteen because you can use it to boil water in it. Double walled stainless steel canteens can burst when boiling water. HOWEVER, if all you have is a double walled stainless steel canteen then use it and fill it with water. It’s still a great option for storing water; just remember not to use it to boil water.
SQUEEZE WATER BOTTLES - While this isn’t the best option because it could possibly leak, if this is your only option then use it.
FILTERING WATER BOTTLES - This is a great way to help ensure you have clean water while on the go.
☑️ADDITIONAL ITEMS TO ADD WHEN POSSIBLE:
WATER FILTER STRAWS - Great for filtering water on the go. They are a compact size and take up very little space in your bags.
WATER TREATMENT TABLETS - Important to have to help purify your drinking water.
WATER POUCHES - Great option for water. They are small and can easily fit in small spaces in your "Bug Out Bags". The shelf life is 5 years so you don't have to worry about rotating it for a couple years.
WHIRL-PAK WATER BAGS - We HIGHLY recommend having the Whirl-Pak water bags in your "Bug Out Bags". It is vital that you have water to survive, and yet carrying around a lot of water is impractical. The whirl-pak water bags take up very little space yet when they are full they can hold up to 36oz of water! This is very important if you ever have to evacuate and need to collect water whenever you come to a water source.
SILLCOCK KEY - This is a special tool that can help you access water from public buildings if you were on the go after societal collapse in a "Bug Out" situation.
